Motorhome parking proposed for Stonehenge
English Heritage have submitted plans for enhanced coach and dedicated motorhome parking facilities at Stonehenge. The charity has applied to Wiltshire Council for permission to make a temporary coach park permanent, and change the layout of the original coach park, to increase the amount of space so it can accommodate 53 large coaches and 26 motorhomes.
We welcome the provision of motorhome parking at this iconic location and have suggested that overnight stays should be allowed, together with fresh water and a waste disposal facility.
You may wish to support this application, and in particular the recognition of the need for allocated parking for motorhomes, and put forward the suggestion that they be permitted to park overnight.
The proposal will be considered at the Wiltshire South Area Planning Committee meeting on 21st July
