Wellhouse Leisure is looking forward to further success in 2017 thanks to new model introductions, increased production at its new premises near Huddersfield, plus the appointment of additional, specialist dealers for its latest Hyundai i800 camper to make it more easily available across the UK

Production of its most successful campervan, the Ford Terrier 2, will increase at its new factory near Huddersfield in 2017 thanks to the introduction of a new ‘Le Tour’ model, with prices from just £34,000. This model, based on the Ford Tourneo Custom with the latest Ford EcoBlue 130PS Euro 6 TDCi engine, has more interior space thanks to an optional, removable ‘camping pod’ with kitchen, which gives it the flexibility to be a people-carrier, load carrier or camper. It has a sliding, full-width rear seat with three seat belts, plus full interior trim, lighting, electrics, curtains and an SCA elevating roof, with the option of a roof-bed. Wellhouse Leisure can also offer this conversion on used Ford Transit/Tourneo Custom models.

For the first time in many years, Wellhouse Leisure is going to start offering a limited number of Volkswagen-based conversions based on the new T6 (Transporter), as well as used models. Using the traditional side kitchen layout with fresh and waste water tanks, plus SMEV hob and sink, these conversions will have an SCA elevating roof (with optional roof-bed), Eberspacher heating system, mains hook-up, solar panel and a sliding, three-seater rear bench seat. Available with a choice of Volkswagen’s latest 2.0-litre diesel engines, with prices starting from £44,500, the first model, with an 84 PS, 2.0-litre engine, is due to be ready by the end of January.

Last summer’s successful return of the award-winning Wellhouse Hyundai i800 Camper, based on the i800 people carrier, has led to the appointment of four specialist dealers to make this model more widely available across the UK. These are: DSG Hyundai in Morecombe; Bletchley Hyundai in Milton Keynes; Hyundai Torbay in Devon; and Highland Campers in Inverness, Scotland. Prices start from £42,000 with a particularly high standard specification, including oven, heating and hot water system, plus an external shower. There are standard or special edition trim levels available, plus the option of automatic transmission.

After generating an exceptional amount of interest at its launch last October, Wellhouse has now started production of the SsangYong Turismo Tourist MPV-based camper with elevating roof, kitchen unit, four seats and four-berths. It will be appearing on the SsangYong stand (no. 3-71) at the EventCity Caravan and Motorhome show in Manchester from 19 to 22 January, at the Scottish Caravan, Motorhome and Holiday Home Show from 2 to 5 February (stand no. 3005), and at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show (stand no. 5108) at the NEC, Birmingham from 21 to 26 February.

David Elliott, Managing Director of Wellhouse Leisure said: “We will have an even better choice of high quality and great value for money campervans for 2017, so are sure it is going to be a great year for us – and our customers.”
