Ford accredited Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM) and ISO 9001: 2008 certified

Wellhouse Leisure has announced a revised Ford campervan range for 2019, including new names as well as all-new models.

Now a Ford accredited Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM), for 2019 Wellhouse Leisure has eight models based on the Ford Transit or Tourneo Custom, all available with a German-made sliding rear seat with three seatbelts (optional on the Le-Tour Van and Tellaro LUX-XL) that has actually been crash-tested inside a Ford Transit Custom, rather than in a mock-up, as some seats are.

Customer feedback shows the sliding seat is a popular feature as it gives the flexibility to carry longer loads or bring any passengers nearer the driver while travelling, and can then be pushed back for maximum living space while camping. It quickly converts to make a 6ft 4in long bed.

Trento

Wellhouse Leisure Ford Custom TrentoThe first of the new 2019 models is the Trento. This is based on the Ford Tourneo Custom, which is the more luxurious, passenger-carrying version of the Transit Custom van.

It features sliding doors on both sides, a UK-made Drivelodge elevating roof, plus various refinements to the interior and dashboard, especially as the plusher Titanium trim level is used for the Trento conversion. This includes: a satin black surround to the B-pillars to visually connect the door and the Ford’s privacy side windows; a chrome surround to the front grille; 17in silver alloy wheels; alarm; rear air conditioning; integrated sun blinds on side windows; body-coloured side mouldings and (heated) door mirrors; Quickclear heated windscreen; heated front seats; front and rear parking sensors; cruise control; rear view camera, plus the Ford Sync 3 system with DAB radio and an 8in touchscreen display.

Inside, there’s Wellhouse’s trademark, high quality, Italian-designed furniture. The side kitchen unit has a two-burner hob and sink, plus there is also 100W solar panel, leisure battery, LED mood lighting, and Eberspächer blown-air heating. The sliding rear seat has three seatbelts, so five people can travel in the Trento, but if more seating is required, two optional, removable single seats are available that simply fit to the floor rails.

The Trento has a choice of standard or long wheelbase versions, 130PS or 170PS 2.0 TDCi Ford EcoBlue Euro 6 engines with six-speed manual gearbox (or optional automatic, £1,620), and either the UK-made elevating roof (with roof bed as standard) or a high-top roof. It has maximum weight of 3,100kg with a payload of 650kg (depending on specification), and costs from £47,000. Options include a Ford Sat Nav system, SMEV mini grill, awnings, towbars and bike racks.

Trento Le-Tour

Wellhouse Trento Le-Topur 2019The new Trento Le-Tour model is also based on the Ford Tourneo Custom Titanium, so has the same vehicle specification as the Trento, but has more interior living space and a full-width sliding rear seat that becomes an extra-large bed, thanks to not having any internal furniture. Instead, a portable camping pod kitchen unit that locks into the floor rails is available.

There is the same UK-made elevating roof and choice of short of long wheelbases, engines and options as the standard Trento, with prices starting from £39,000.

Tellaro

The Tellaro is a new model name that replaces the Terrier that Wellhouse produced from 2013 to 2018. It has the same Italian designed interior furniture and sliding rear seat as the Trento, and has a very similar specification, but is based on the Ford Transit Custom Kombi in Trend specification with a nearside sliding door and German elevating roof. There’s a choice of Tellaro SE and Sport models, with prices starting from £47,000.

Tellaro LUX-XL

Being 37cm longer, using the long wheelbase Ford Transit Custom with a new high-roof, allows the Tellaro LUX-XL to have an interior layout with a generous L-shaped kitchen at the rear with a Dometic 40-litre compressor fridge, two-burner hob and sink, plus a closet in the opposite corner with a Dometic cassette toilet. The fixed roof provides extra storage lockers and a Heki rooflight, giving an interior height of 1.73m, with an external height of 2.47m.

There is a choice of rear seats; either a side-facing bench seat opposite the side sliding door, or the option of the standard Tellaro’s forward-facing, sliding seat with three seatbelts.

The Tellaro LUX-XL has a solar panel, 100Ah leisure battery and Eberspächer blown-air heating included in the standard specification, with prices starting from £45,000.

Custom Le-Tour Van

Another new model for 2019 is the Custom Le-Tour Van based on the Ford Transit Custom van in the Limited specification with 16in alloy wheels and twin sliding side doors. It offers particularly good value for money, with prices starting from £29,995 plus VAT.

It is designed to be used as a van for work and a campervan for holidays, with a conversion that includes tracks in the floor to fit an optional sliding rear bench seat or individual seats. It also includes an elevating roof with bed as standard, plus driver and passenger swivel seats, leisure battery, 12v sockets, 100W solar panel, LED lighting and full carpet-lined rear. Other options include a 2.2KW Eberspächer blown-air heating, mains hook-up kit, and a portable camping pod with sink, single hob and fresh and waste water carriers (£750). Like the Trento and Tellaro, the Custom Le-Tour Van has a choice of 130PS and 170PS engines, manual or automatic transmission, and short or long wheelbase.

Misano

Wellhouse Misano 2019The Misano also offers great value for money as it is a new campervan conversion on a nearly-new, low mileage Ford Transit Custom in Limited trim, with prices starting from approximately £34,000 depending on vehicle mileage and specification.

It has a full campervan interior with the same kitchen and sliding rear seat as the Tellaro. As it is based on the Transit Custom Limited model, it has air conditioning, cruise control, colour-coded bumpers, electric folding mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, DAB radio and Ford’s QuickClear heated windscreen. The Misano is available direct from Wellhouse Leisure.

MS-RT & VR/46

At the top of the range, the MS-RT and VR/46 special edition models are the motorsport-inspired models with lowered Eibach suspension, 18in OZ racing wheels and full body kit. To match its high performance looks, it has the upgraded 170PS engine with a six-speed manual gearbox, or an optional automatic. Inside, the seats are covered in luxury Nappa leather, with sports seats for the driver and passenger, plus the usual Tecnoform side kitchen unit and sliding rear seat. Prices start from £60,000.

The VR/46 special edition celebrates Valentino Rosso’s many MotoGP wins. It gains bespoke decals and VR/46 logos on the steering wheel, dashboard dials, embroidered into the sports seats and etched on the kitchen unit. There will only be 460 of these models produced, and each one has a unique numbered plaque. Prices start from £60,000.
