Camping-car Park to Expand into the UK

Camping Car ParkCamping-car Park, a major French operator of aires, is planning on expanding into the UK.

It already runs a network of around 200 aires in France and works on a 'PASS’ETAPES' card system. You buy the card for €4 and then load it with credit. The aires are barrier controlled and when you arrive on a site you swipe your card to gain entry. You can use the services and leave again whenever you want. You leave by swiping your card card again at the keypad by the exit. Credit is deducted according to the time spent on the site (5 hours = € 5, 24 hours costs from € 7.30 to € 15). So effectively you can just pay for use of the services, or for a full 24hr stay. You can add credit to the card at the keypad terminal or on the Camping-car Park website.

Full information on how the system works in France is available on the Camping-car Park website External link

Camping-car Park would like to find out what sort of demand there is for their type of aires in the UK and how UK motorhome and campervan owners use their vehicles, to get this information they have created a survey: Camping-car Park Survey External link

We are excited by this news and think it could eventually result in an excellent network of good quality aires in the UK.
